We teach Mahjong lessons! Whether you are completely new to Mahjong or have experience with another version and would like to learn the Japanese style, we would love to help you fully enjoy every aspect of the game.
Our general learning path includes:
Learning the tiles
Practicing gameplay fundamentals, including turn order, tile calls, and forming winning hands
Understanding the various yaku (winning conditions)
Joining regular games once you are comfortable with the basics
Advanced topics such as defensive strategy and scoring are available upon request as you continue to develop your skills.
Although we are happy to teach you any time, the first Saturday of every month is specifically dedicated to teaching new players. This is a great opportunity to learn the game with other beginners in a friendly, low pressure environment.
