We are a Japanese (Riichi) Mahjong club based in Northern Colorado. We meet weekly to play, compete, and teach newcomers. Brad started playing riichi online during COVID, but quickly found out that playing in person was way more fun. He founded Riichi NoCo in the summer of 2025 and is excited to continue to see the club grow.
Favorite Yaku: Iipeikou/Pure Double Sequence
Membership
Catherine originally learned Hong Kong Mahjong via online play, but pivoted to riichi when given the opportunity to play in person. She's currently working on improving her defensive play and fighting the urge to call every possible Kan.
Favorite Strategy: "When in doubt, tanyao."
Communications
Marcus started playing in 2023 and refused to learn any strategy for over a year. Some say he still hasn't. He's currently on the warpath to teach anyone who will give him the time of day.
